Ngangao Forest

Ngangao Forest is a forest reserve located in the Taita Hills of Taita Taveta County in Kenya. It covers an area of approximately 6,000 hectares and is situated at an altitude of 1,800-2,200 meters above sea level. The forest is part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, a range of ancient mountains that stretches from Kenya to Tanzania.

Kereita Forest Location

Kereita forest is located just an hour away from Nairobi in Kimende Town that is along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. If driving, on the Nairobi – Nakuru highway, branch off at Total Petrol Station in Kimende. The directions to Kereita are very well indicated all through from there to the location.

You can choose to stop by the Viewpoint on your way there and witness the magnificent view of the Rift Valley.

If using public transport, you can take a matatu heading to Kijabe at the Globe Roundabout in Nairobi. Alight at Kimende and take a taxi to the forest

This is the main event here and it was going to be my therapy and I could feel thrush of blood starting to rush through my veins as I signed for the indemnity forms just in case. After the signing I proceeded to the demo, this is where you are shown how to do Ziplining.

This was another one, how can I miss the bull’s eye? I did not believe my eyes when I missed it the first          time.

About

Mount Elgon National Park is a protected area located in eastern Uganda on the border with Kenya. In 1993, an area of 1,279 square kilometers was established and named after Mount Elgon. An extinct volcano which is the main feature of the park.

Mount Elgon is the fourth-highest mountain in East Africa, with its highest peak, Wagagai, reaching an elevation of 4,321 meters above sea level. The mountain is a popular destination for hikers and climbers, and there are several trails that visitors can use to explore the park.

The park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including over 300 species of birds and several species of primates such as the black and white colobus monkey, the blue monkey, and the baboon. Other animals found in the park include elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas and Snakes

One of the unique features of the park is the series of caves and waterfalls that are found on the slopes of Mount Elgon. These include the Kitum Cave, which is known for its salt-licking elephants, and the Sipi Falls, a series of three waterfalls that are a popular attraction for visitors.

Best time to visit
